To My Tennis Family,

Welcome to the 2023 Williamsport Women’s Tennis League. Hard to believe that it is time to think about getting your registration forms and payments in to be able to join the 2023 WWTL season. This awesome league runs as smoothly as it does because I have a wonderful group of women on the board who help guide me in the right direction. Without the 146 members who make up the WWTL, there would not be a women’s tennis league. Thank you all. I admit that I do not recognize everyone or remember names from one time to another. So please be patient with me. When you see me on the courts, please remind me of your name even though I should know it.

To our returning members, I hope that your 2022 season was a positive experience by getting all your 6 matches in, meeting an amazing group of women and enjoyed playing the game of tennis. If there were any problems or questions from last year, please let me know. My goal is to have all existing members return and spread the word to have friends, neighbors, and relatives join the league. If you hear remarks like “I don’t know how to play or haven’t played in a long time.” Encourage these women to register. I need to grow the beginner and low intermediate division.

Exciting news this year. Our Coach, Jessica Bower, has earned her certification on the Professional Tennis Registry. When joining the WWTL with your registration fee, it entitles you to 6-2-hour coaching sessions with Jessica. Jessica has been doing an amazing job of coaching for the past 3 years. If you are unable to do 6 matches this summer, you can always take advantage of Jessica’s knowledge and sign up for coaching only.

I am happy to say that our league was able to give out two scholarships this year. We will continue to give out scholarships every year to a senior that has played tennis and will continue their education after high school. This is thanks to our members registration fees and donations. I will be emailing the registration form, overview and president’s letter as attachments. There is also a registration form available on our website www.williamsportwomenstennisleague.com. There will be a link this year for the clothing fundraiser. I will email that to you as soon as it is available.

Registration deadline is March 15th . You will need to have your registration, registration fee in by March 15th to guarantee that you will be on the roster.

I look forward to seeing all our returning members and meeting new members for the 2023 summer season. If you can’t wait till the summer, the indoor courts of the Central PA Tennis center have great opportunities to play all year long.
