To the WWTL community,
Welcome back to all our returning members for our 2026 Williamsport Women’s Tennis League season. Please feel free to share this information with any women who you believe would enjoy learning tennis or returning to the game. It is a great way to make new friends, exercise, and above all have fun!
Members are placed into divisions based on skill level, ranging from beginner/never played to high advanced. You can either play 6 singles matches or 6 doubles matches or do both and play 12 matches. We email you match cards with names and numbers of players in your division that you will play, then you and your opponent(s) simply set up a time and place to play your match. The Williamsport and surrounding areas have several wonderful outdoor courts, plus you can always play indoors at the Central PA Tennis Center. Our WWTL members not only live in the Williamsport area but come from State College to Danville. Again, your matches are scheduled to be convenient to all players, but as this is the Williamsport Women’s Tennis league the courts in the Williamsport area should be the initial courts being used.
Registrations are due by March 15, 2026 and can be done online or on paper. I have included the link to register online and a link to the hard copy form. Paper (hard copy) forms will also be available at the Central PA Tennis Center. You can pay either via check or Venmo to Brenda Nichols, WWTL Treasurer.
Please keep an eye on Facebook as the WWTL posts reminders and updates throughout the year. The Website for the Williamsportwomenstennisleague.com will also have the link for online registration. The bylaws can be found on our website, as well as the league’s mission, and our rules and regulations.
Don’t miss our Open House on February 22nd at the Central PA Tennis Center from 2pm-4pm. It is a wonderful chance for both returning and new members to meet and play tennis. This year, one of our superb coaches, Theresa Summerson, will be teaching a beginner lesson for those of you new to this lifelong sport.
As always, your registration includes six 2-hour coaching sessions run by our amazing coaches! These sessions are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Shaw Park tennis courts, located behind Divine Providence Hospital. There is one session in the morning from 8:30-10:30am and one session in the evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Coaching sessions run weekly from May 19 to June 24.

And if you did not know…we are honored to be able to help other women. The WWTL gives out an annual scholarship to a high school girl who has played tennis and will go on to college. We have donations from our members and clothing fundraisers which help with this program. And this past December we held our first ever winter event, raising over $300 which was donated to the YWCA.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me via email.

A message from the president | 2025 WWTL Season

To My Tennis Family,

I want to welcome all the returning members and eagerly anticipate new members to the 2025 season of the Williamsport Women’s Tennis League. Our league flourished in 2024 with a total of 159 members that included 46 new members. I will be working on having more new members than last year. My goal is to find new members that have not played before. I need to have a stronger beginner division.

By participating in the league, it will give you the incentive to get out and play at least 6 matches or 12 matches if you are doing both singles and doubles. Match times are flexible because you set up times and places that are convenient for you and your opponent. Williamsport and surrounding areas have wonderful outdoor courts plus the indoor facilities that is second to none. Members of the WWTL not only live in the Williamsport area but also from State College to Danville, form Eagles Mere to Selinsgrove. Since this is the Williamsport Women’s Tennis league the courts in the Williamsport area should be the initial courts being use, but this is the beauty of this league. You can schedule your matches where and when that is convenient to all players.

A message from the president | 2023 WWTL Season

To My Tennis Family,

Welcome to the 2023 Williamsport Women’s Tennis League. Hard to believe that it is time to think about getting your registration forms and payments in to be able to join the 2023 WWTL season. This awesome league runs as smoothly as it does because I have a wonderful group of women on the board who help guide me in the right direction. Without the 146 members who make up the WWTL, there would not be a women’s tennis league. Thank you all. I admit that I do not recognize everyone or remember names from one time to another. So please be patient with me. When you see me on the courts, please remind me of your name even though I should know it.
